What does Mohan Foundation do?
We help patients and families understand kidney disease and the decisions that come with it — what test results mean, how dialysis and transplant differ, what government schemes cover, and how organ donation works in Tamil Nadu. We provide information and guidance, not diagnosis or treatment.
Do you charge for guidance?
No. The information on this site is free to read, and questions asked through our WhatsApp channel are answered without charge.
Can you tell me whether I need dialysis?
No, and neither can any website. That decision depends on your blood results, your symptoms, and your examination, and it belongs to a doctor who has seen you. What we can do is help you understand what your doctor is describing and what questions are worth asking.
Is organ donation legal in Tamil Nadu?
Yes. Tamil Nadu has one of the longer-established deceased donation programmes in India, administered by the state transplant authority TRANSTAN under the national framework. Living donation is also permitted within the rules set by the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act.
